Project Development Officer – CCB

Connecting Communities in Berkshire (CCB) is an independent charity with a focus on developing strong communities. Our team is dedicated to achieving our vision for all communities in Berkshire to be strong, resilient, sustainable and able to take control of their own futures. We are looking for the next member of our highly committed team.

The role of Project Development Officer is critical to ensuring the success of our National Lottery-funded project 21st Century Community Halls, and the longer-term sustainability of the charity. The project exists to transform rural community buildings by supporting the people responsible for running them to realise their ambitions and prioritise the changes they want to make. By implementing projects in their action plans, halls will become more attractive, comfortable, sustainable venues for the community to use for the next 100 years and more.

CCB’s Project Development Officer will play a leading role in supporting the implementation of projects in these action plans. But that’s not all. CCB’s own sustainability is dependent on the development of new high-quality projects and services that meet identified needs. Achieving this is central to this new role.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about improving the quality of life in Berkshire’s rural communities. They will have strong research and fundraising skills and experience of supporting the implementation of grass-roots community-led projects. They are confident, patient and interested in developing strong and mutually supportive relationships. They will provide a first-rate service and be champions of village halls and rural community development in general. As this role will involve regular travel in rural areas, they will have a full UK driving license and access to a car.

Our benefits:

·         25 days annual leave per year pro rata plus public/bank holidays

·         Contributory pension scheme

·         Free office car parking

·         Staff training and development
